Bastyr Herb Formula - Blood Tonic Bone Soup Mix
Chinese Blood Tonic Bone Soup
Soup Mix Ingredients (included):
Bu Gu Zhi (Psoralea seed); Gou Qi Zi (Goji berry); Dang Gui (Angelica chinensis root); Bai Shao Yao (White peony root); Shu Di Huang (Rehmannia root); Hei Mu Er (Black ear fungus); Lian Zi (Lotus nut); Hong Zao (Red date).
Other Ingredients (not included):
Soup bones; water; yams; carrots; mushrooms (button, oyster, shiitake, etc.).
Cooking Directions
Bring the bones to a boil for a half hour and remove any scum on the surface. Then add the herbs, veggies and fungus. Simmer with a lid for 5- 12 hours. Alternatively, you might try boiling the bones for 5 hours prior to adding herbs and veggies and stewing all combined for 2 hours. The herbs should all cook down and be edible as part of the soup.
